Soft Surfaces
With over 25 years experience,
our employees will do this service to perfection!
Below, you will find most of the services that have been the main thrust of our work at Pacific Carpet Care. Soft surface cleaning presents the most challenges as a sub group because of the virtually limitless combination of fibers that make up the textiles we enjoy the most. The services provided below are recommended to be done more regularly than hard surface to increase their ability to withstand soil and wear and tear
Truck mounted steam cleaning, AKA hot water extraction, is the industry standard. It is the most widely recommended cleaning method by the major carpet manufacturers. The Institute for Inspection Cleaning and Restoration(IICRC) lists it first in the S100 Carpet Cleaning Standard.
All other methods, though viable are subordinate to steam cleaning. Because of the high pressure achieved with this process, Pollutants, bacteria and allergens are flushed away. The high temperature also aids to sanitize carpet. A balanced pH is reached after the final rinse. Drying takes usually 4 to 8 hours.
Please remove breakables and items from tables and other furniture that will be moved by our crew. Remove all small items such as boxes, magazines, shoes, etc. in the areas to be cleaned. Also, arrange for pets and children to be away from the area where we are cleaning.
Step 1 - Pre-Inspection
Every great carpet cleaning experience starts with a proper pre-inspection. Our service technician will inspect your particular areas of concern as well as noting carpet construction and soiling conditions. He will also advise you of any possible permanent staining.
Step 2 – Commercial Pre-Vacuum
Your carpet will be thoroughly vacuumed with an * vacuum to remove bonded dry soil. Dry soil is removed by a thorough vacuuming. Removing dry soil is one of the most important steps in cleaning.
Step 3 – Furniture Moving
Sofas, chairs and tables will be carefully moved. Larger pieces, beds and dressers are left in place under our regular pricing structure. Furniture will be protected with disposable blocks and tabs.
Step 4 – Pre-Spray & Power Scrub
Traffic areas and spots are pretreated with a hot pre-spray and then power scrubbed for more effective soil and spot removal.
Step 5 – Extract & Rinse
Once the soil has been loosened, our state-of-the-art truck-mounted hot water extraction process will thoroughly flush the carpet pile with an organic rinsing agent. Pressure and heat are regulated so that carpet is not over-wet. We clean with water temperature between 180°F – 190°F.
Step 6 – Post Spot Treatment
If any spots are not removed during the cleaning process, specialty spotting techniques are employed. Note: Permanent stains identified by our service technician may not be removed.
Step 7 – Post Grooming
The carpet pile is raked for faster drying and visual appeal.
Step 8 – Post Inspection
Please walk through your home or business to inspect our work.
This category encompasses many areas of the textile industry. It usually represents fabric used for furnishings. It can be found on furniture, walls, beds, draperies, car interiors, church pews, movie theatres and restaurant booths. It will also be found adorning private train cars, private jets, private boats and yachts.
Fine fabrics refer to those types of fabrics that need the old adage “less is more” applied. Most natural fibers like cotton, wool and silk always cost more to buy and more to maintain. We will ALWAYS use less moisture, less cleaning agent, less heat and less agitation.
It is interesting to note that most clients who clean their carpets once or twice per year may only clean their upholstery once every two to five years. Note also the durability of your carpet versus that of your fine fabric. Fabrics should be cared for with the same regimen as your carpet. Our skin is in daily contact with some of our furniture. Shouldn’t we think of cleaning our fine fabrics like we do our laundry? Hmm
Area rugs come in so many shapes and sizes. They vary in color, cut and construction. They also vary in price from tens of dollars to tens of thousands of dollars. We have seen the rugs from either end of the spectrum. We know you may have taken a lot of time to select just the right area rug for your living space. Some rugs can be cleaned on-site, at your home. If the rug requires cleaning off-site, we will pick it up clean it to specifications and deliver it back to you dry, rolled up and wrapped in plastic for protection.
Mattress Cleaning is one of the fastest growing segments of our business. Awareness of environment and the threat of respiratory illness and/or dust mites have fueled customers concerns relating to mattress cleaning. When you think about the fact that you spend one third of your life on your mattress, cleaning seems appropriate. If you or someone you know is suffering from respiratory illness, square one is your mattress.
At Pacific Carpet Care, mattress cleaning is just one prong of a multi- pronged healthy home regimen which we can help you achieve. We are just a phone call away!
From our point of view, there seems to be a resurgence within the design industry pointing to drapery as a viable window treatment. There are difficulties which may arise with drapery cleaning. Sun damage, fading and weak tensile strength can be reasons for not cleaning drapery. That is why we do a thorough pre-inspection before any work is done.
We will determine if we can clean your drapery and if it is a fine fabric, we may recommend a protectant to strengthen the fabric against future damage.
